Barrister Winery Specializes in Limited Production Red Wines

Barrister Winery will release approximately 3,200 cases of red wine in 2012. In addition, we will produce about 400 cases of white wine. Our wines are sold at our Spokane winery, through our mailing list and online.

A number of the region’s finest restaurants and wine shops are also offering our wines to their customers. See the “Find Our Wines” link for a representative listing of restaurants and shops in Washington and north Idaho that carry our wines.

Wine Enthusiast Magazine awards Barrister wines high marks!

  • 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Bacchus Vineyard, 92 points and named "Editor's Choice."
  • 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain (Wine Club exclusive), 92 points.
  • 2011 Merlot, Walla Walla Valley, 93 points and named "Editor's Choice."

Gold! Barrister's 2011 Merlot, Walla Walla Valley, won "Gold" at the 2014 American Fine Wines Competition.

Double Gold!  Barrister's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sagemoor, won "Double Gold" at the 2013 Indy International Wine Competition.

First Friday-Art in the Alley- 5-10 p.m.

"FIRST FRIDAY'S BEST STOP" (Sunset Magazine, February 2009)

  • Artist's Reception, 5-7 p.m.
  • Bistro Buffet, 6-8 p.m.
  • "Lonesome" Lyle Morse, accoustic blues, 7-10 p.m.

Come relax, enjoy the arts, and wine by the glass or the bottle.

"First Friday" is open for guests 21 and over only.  Underage guests are welcome to visit the winery to view the art during our normal tasting room hours, Monday through Saturday, noon - 5 p.m.  

  • February 7: The Art Spirit Gallery, featuring the works of  Harold Balazs, Mel McCuddin, Robert Grimes, Jerri Lisk, Victoria Brace, George Carlson, Wayne Chabre, Morse Clary, Peter Cox, Allen Dodge, Mary Dee Dodge, Catherine Earle, Mary Farrell, Del Gish and Cary Weigand.
  • March 7: The MAC presents the works of several outstanding regional artists from the Art @ Work collection.

Monday - Saturday, 12 - 5 p.m.
We sometimes close the tasting bar early for private party or special winery events.  Check News & Events for early closing notices.

The $5 tasting fee is credited to the purchase of a bottle of wine.

Tours by Appointment

Personally guided by one of our winemakers, you will learn how our wine is made from grape to glass. Please call to check our winemakers' availability.
